With a great new look and feel, and business-boosting features like local coupon distribution, we know you're going to like it. Daniel Cote, CEO YourLocalBlog.com is coming January 11, 2010The YourCommunityBlog.com website will be upgrading it's look and features. These changes are coming January 11, 2010. We will also be changing our name from YourCommunityBlog.com to YourLocalBlog.com. We believe the new name helps better describe the website and is shorter to type and remember. Besides, location is the hot topic in websites right now. Everything is going "local". Here are a list of new features for the upgraded version of the blog network: New Homepage Design Featured Blog - Filament PopToday's featured blog on our blog network: www.yourlocalblog.com/filament .It highlights the use of a custom header and custom font colors. All of our plus and premium level blog accounts allow for customization of your blog to match your company's brand or your personal style.
Start a Blog Today! KillerStartups.com's Review of YourCommunityBlog.comWe would like to thank KillerStartups.com for a great review of our website. To view the review click here. Driving Directions Feature AddedA new feature has been added to the blog manager and it is driving directions. When a blogger adds themselves to the Community Blog map (on the map marker tab) there is now an option to opt-in for having driving directions show up on their blog. A link will appear on their blog and when the link is clicking on by a user the destination location (a businesses/organization address) is automatically filled in as the end location; the user simply then enters their start location and a map is created that includes complete step by step driving directions.
What is Geotagging?Geotagging allows you to give a location to a blog post. For example, if you are writing a blog post about your favorite restaurant you might want your blog post to show up on our Stories Map. This allows you to share your knowledge with the world about specific places you've visited. YourCommunityBlog.com website has officially launched!I am proud to announce the launch of YourCommunityBlog.com. I hope to see great things happen as the site grows and takes on a life of its own. I look forward to seeing how people use the site to get connected to their local communities. I welcome feedback from visitors to the website. Please leave any comments you may have. We have many ideas for new features for the website that we will be releasing in the near future.
