Myrtle and her father, Henry, will guide you on an adventure through the past and present. Follow the clues to find the "treasures" in Caladesi's past and present.
On October 25, 1921 a hurricane separated Hog Island at the part of the island referred to as "the narrows." The separated islands were known as Hog Island and Scharrer's Island. In 1928 the island's name was officially changed to Caladesi Island. Thanks in large part to the passion and persistence of Gerald Rehm, then mayor of Dunedin, Caladesi Island became a state park in 1967.
