Did You Know Drano Can Actually Clog Your Pipes?
7:49 PM, Monday, May 11, 2009
If you're like most people, when your sink clogs, you run out and get some Drano or Liquid Plumber. But what most folks don't know is that using Drano or Liquid Plumber leaves a sulphur residue inside your pipes. Sulphur is what burns the hair, soap and other clogged matter out of the pipe. And over time, this sulphur builds in your pipes like plaque in an artery.

So if you use Drano, the sink might clear, but you've also decreased the interior diameter of your pipe. This could lead to a much more expensive problem. A snake will clear a regular clog, but it won't clear years of gummed up sulphur from your pipes. At that point, the only solution is to cut the pipe. We've had plenty of experience in handling both situations and we'd much rather quickly clear your problem by snaking it out!

So the next time your sink gets clogged, drop the Drano, and pick up the phone to call Lancaster Plumbing at 727-520-5602.
